Read his review of SPEP1, total rockin stuff.

This guy is funny. Joe, you should extend a hearty invitation for him to join our little forum, maybe liven things up a bit.

The spoof on THX and Fandango is kind of funny.

But what's really funny (and not in all that good a way) is how this guy claims he has the best website in the world. I thought Film-Tech was the best web site in the world (at least it is one of the ones I visit the most).

What do I see at that one dude's website? Big clunky Arial type and web page formatting that is old by even 1995 standards. Is Arial the only font on this guy's computer? The large type looks like something styled for an elementary school textbook for myopic kiddies wearing coke-bottle lensed glasses. If he's going to claim to be the best, he's got to have some waaayy cool a:hover, a:link, a:visted, a:active CSS pseudo class rollover text effects and a lot of other DHMTL and Flash action that takes forever and a day to download. Yeah, buddy.

I think this site was meant as a form of cynical tyrade, not to be taken to seriously. I disagreed with 90 percent of what he had to say, but I loved its complete lack of respect for all other human biengs on the planet. This is the kind of humor usually atributed to old men.

Pretty funny, although he stole the "I will kick your ass" idea from someone who tried to auction an ass-kicking on eBay.

At first I thought that perhaps this was a website that Joe had created under an alias.

By the way Bobby, did you notice that the entire site was written in VI? Scott will tell you what a fabulous program that is.

vi rules, Brad. I admit that most of my WWW pages were either written in vi, or are generated by Perl scripts written with vi.

No it doesn't. Vi is the most evil program in the world. I've ranted on it before if you care to do a search.

Ah, Brad, you just like the word evil since it has "vi" in the middle of it.

Maybe if you had a THX certified copy of vi, you'd like it!

haha, pretty funny. I never noticed that.

Of course that doesn't make up for the fact that Vi is annoying as all hell. Where's Scott when you need him? He loves Vi for some reason.

BBEdit for the Mac is better. Nothing but a blank page you type text onto. That is how I create ALL of my web pages. That's the only way I can be sure the code is compliant... if I write it myself one letter/number/symbol at a time.

At first I thought you guys were talking about "Dreamweaver IV," but I see what you mean now by "vi". I'm not into text editors myself (I defer to apps like DreamweaverMX and GoLive 6 where I can see the design and the code).

As far as all code typed/generated being "compliant," that's a tough balancing act if you are trying to be compliant with really old computers and really old web browsers. Maybe 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 20 users out there are still farting around with a museum piece computer and version 2 or 3 web browser (or, God forbid, Netscape 4). To put the best visual kick into a website, you have to be willing to leave some of those users stuck in 1994 behind.
