Well, a small win for us. The McCarthy Theatre, Belleville Ontario Canada will re-open in about a year to live stage (it always did host live theatre) and quality films on a regular basis, a format that has been successfull in medium-sized cities here. Not big enough to be a "palace", but we never had any of those, a very nice downtown single which closed in 1974 to become a craft and bike store. It was probably built in the 30's or so. But other than flatten the floor upstairs in the auditorium, all has remained intact, the stage, chandeliers, fixtures, paint. Really looking forward to it, a proper venue in which to see film (along with of course, my beloved drive-ins!).

Best wishes on having a wonderful asset preserved. I am affiliated with 5 theatres which are now restored or being restored. One of the common attributes is the theatre organ which has a great following of supporters.

Of the 5 theatres, 3 run platters, two run reels and the big house runs 35/70/16 and the 35/70 are carbon light.
