A rather harsh post on another forum (probably the only time a film-techer has used the words "offal" and "rodent fornication" in reference to his colleagues) prompts me to say a word of appreciation to John Pytlak, Brad Miller, and many others who contribute so much to making movie exhibition better. The truth is that movies look and sound better now than they ever have. John, your passion for making movies look as good as they can is amazing and I applaud you and your fellow engineers and technicians for all your contributions to the advancement of film technology. Brad, it goes without saying that this forum is incredible and you obviously put in a tremendous amount of work making it better and sharing information. Likewise, for all the dedicated people in the booth and on the ground floor who have the power to make going to a movie a great experience, moviegoers owe you a debt of gratitude. It's easy to be cynical and dwell on the problems in the exhibition industry. In the end though it's the people at the front lines who can make or break the show (cliche maybe, but true).

Thank you. "Film Done Right" (and eventually "Digital Done Right") are in the best interests of EVERYONE who loves the movies!

Please don't be too hard on our friend Bob. The lack of showmanship and work ethic in some theatres today can be distressing to those who remember "the good old days". You are correct that most of the participants here on Film-Tech are really making a difference at the theatres they work at, by "Film Done Right".
