If Many Movie Theater Chains are Filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
Why are Springfield Mall General Cinema
and Ua Theater Fairfax Town Center Still shoing Movies???

Because Chapter 11 is bankpusy protection. This helps prevent creditors from trying to claim their debt befor they are required too. It protects the companies and allows them to restructure under federal guidelines in order to help recover their business. Theaters can stay open and opperational during this period.

Betsie: UA is no longer in Chapter 11 -- its reorganization plan was approved by the bankruptcy court on March 2 of this year.
