You can always tape a picture of a Christie projector on a Simplex. That would be a cruel joke.

I recall one time some corporate types came in to inspect the booth. Of course there was some oil on the floor. What do you expect with old Simplexes. They asked why the projectors were leaking. And without skipping a beat he said, "It's a Simplex, therefore it leaks."

I remember being told that Simplex (Strong) was going to make a digital projector but they had to abandon the project.

Seems they couldn't figre out a way to make the thing leak oil!

Why did the Simplex cross the road?

To get to the other side. .

How 'bout...

Somebody took out those three little screws that hold the cover plate (et.al.) onto the side of the sound head tension roller.

"Where's the joke in that?", you ask... Well, once some genius takes them out, he'll be in for a rude awakening when he discovers that he can't get them back in! The joke is standing there and watching him DENY that he took them out and swearing on his mother's eyes that they "Just fell out"!!!
