Happy post-holidays all! Many old friends came to see my little theatre over the holidays and all of them asked, "Why are you doing this? You can not be making a living at this blah, blah , blah" And they just did not want to hear how much I love my theatre, and after night after exhausted night during the Christmas break, I was wondering myself!;( Well this weekend I ran Rugrats in Paris, and during my first show as I was sitting in my lobby, listening to the movie I heard the strangest thing, childens voices , singing.:0 I scurried into the room to see a group of shining little faces(3-5 year olds)in the front row, singing "who let the dogs out" at the top of their lungs!! It was great! and they sang all the way out of the lobby at the end of the show! OK I am a mom, and I get mushy mom type emotions, but after the stress of the holiday that really brought it all back, why I love what I do, even if I'll never be rich doing this, it is still worth doing. And every show since then has been the same, children's voices singing out, laughing and giggling and smiling happy parents too.

You'll find that many people are basically idiots. I always get questions (from people who never go to the movies) like "Does anybody go the shows anymore?" No, we just do this for an empty building every night!

I get the same money questions too. "How does the theatre do, anyway?" What they really want to ask is "how much are you making?" I just say we're having a pretty good year. Drives them nuts.

Just ignore them and know that the people who come in the door are worth whatever headaches you might get. There's nothing like seeing a satisfied audience walk out after a good movie.
