The theater I'm at for Dunkirk/70 has these electronificated
signthingys above their auditorium entrances. (all 20 of 'em!)

Looks like a bar-type commercial LCD display like this one from NEC, although it's probably discontinued as is a similar model by LG. It's basically a regular 50" panel cut in half.

They're just standard LCD panels in non-standard aspect ratios. The signal is just sent over cat6 via HDBaseT converters from a source computer somewhere else in the building. And that's basically it. The screen itself can be whatever you want. We have a few at my theater that burned out, so we just replaced them with regular computer monitors until we could source a better-fit replacement.

Finding a solution that integrates with your ticketing system to show the actual correct showtimes is going to be the harder part.
