Does anybody have recommendations for carpet sweepers? We've tried a bunch but they all seems to break very quickly.

A month late, but I'll chime in on this one ..

Hoky sweepers are the best, yet...

a lobby broom and an usher's dustpan works more effectively.

One theater I worked at went out & bought an old Bissell carpet sweeper
that must have been from the late 1950's or early 60's on e-bay.
It was all metal, very well built, and it worked great.

They also got a simple dustpan with a very soft whisk broom.
The bristles were straw-like, but softer. Almost like some kind of long
dried grass. Because they were soft, they would scoop dropped popcorn
into the dustbin without breaking it up into small pieces on the carpet.

I've never seen this type for sale in a regular store. Only in Chinatown,
which is where the theater got theirs. But it worked great!

But, popcorn and floor jockeys will destroy this Bissell within a month at a goo-goo plex.

Lobby brooms and floor scoops are the cheapest to purchase in the long run.
