It's 8:45 on Saturday, May 4 and we can't get credit cards to process.... anyone out there having this problem too? RTS says it's our credit card processor which is Vantiv. I can't get their 'client support' website to come up either.

I don't know who our credit card processor is, but around 6pm Pacific Time tonight, we were experiencing sporadic spots where it took up to thirty seconds for a credit card request to be processed.

Still down as of noon today. Time to hit the phones I guess. (RTS had said it might come back by itself but no luck.)

We use RTS with Vantiv as our credit card processor and have not had any problems at all. No issues last night or through our first two afternoon shows today.

Been on the phone an hour today with RTS people...we've done everything imaginable and still no luck. He did say they've had some other calls with the same issue so it's not just us apparently. Must be a regional thing.

pretty sure that I read on some news website that most of the major american banks are doing some sort of shared network / software upgrade over a couple of days today and tomorrow. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

Vantiv is the "Credit card processor of choice" for the N.A.T.O. organization in our area. They have a big presentation at our next N.A.T.O. meeting (next week). I can ask them about it.

Well...I gave up last night with it still not working, and after a guy from RTS spent at least an hour or more on a remote connection to our computer tinkering with things. Then I went in today, ready to call in and pick up where we left off, tested it and it worked.

I assume some "thing" went wrong over the weekend, and when the tech people came back to work on Monday they plugged-in whatever had come unplugged. I hate to think it was something planned, since they never gave any advance notice about it...and if it WAS planned it was the worst timing possible (the busiest weekend of the year so far). So all indications are that it was a freak thing.
