Last year Radio City Music Hall showed The Fellowship of The Ring with a live orchestra accompaniment. This year, they're gearing up for The Two Towers. After missing Fellowship last year, I swore that I wouldn't miss it this year. Turns out I am going to miss it. [Frown]

But I figured I'd post it here in case anyone is interested. Time is short. Shows are on Oct 8th and 9th only.

If anyone is close to whoever is running the show there, I'm curious as to what they're running. Is it 35mm? 70mm? DLP? Special DTS tracks without the music stem? Anyone have any details?

The DC area though already had it's US premier of 'Return of the King' with live orchestra last month at Wolf Trap - I unfortunately missed it, though I had seen 'The Two Towers'(last year) and 'Fellowship' (the year prior) - what a great and very memorable experience.

I know for the Wolf Trap engagement, it was hidef DLP, with subtitles and the majority of the soundmix (the vocals/sound effects) downmixed slightly so the 'live' music is front and center. The fall of the Gandalf and the Balrog, and the release of the dam/attack on Isengard - had my the hair on my neck stand straight up, the impact of the orchestra and chorus was simply astounding!
