Once again, our showtimes have stopped appearing on Fandango and Movies.com. I've noticed that another indie in our area (Gateway Film Center) also "disappears" during the same period we're blacked out. Are other theatres allowed to pay to "block" listings on these services? If so, maybe we have a competitor who's playing games. [Wink]

The Gateway Film Center does its movie ticketing through Movietickets.com, so one could develop a conspiracy theory about Fandango not promoting a theater that uses a competing ticketing service...

More likely, however, is that they are placing a priority on the Fandango ticketing sites, since they can get that data electronically from the POS systems at the theaters. If there is no electronic data exchange going on, then the data services have to fall back on human data entry, which can introduce myriad issues.

For what it's worth, we get our showtimes from CinemaSource (West World Media), and we don't have showtimes for the Grandview Theatre for today or tomorrow, but we do for the days starting Friday.

Are you sending your showtimes directly to CinemaSource and Fandango?

Scott,

I currently send our showtimes to...

Cinema Source
Fandango
Now Showing (Tribune)

Like you said, it may just be the manual processing going awry.
