It just dawned on me, we haven't received a new MovieTunes disk in months. Was the program discontinued, or did we get dropped off the mailing list?

MovieTunes went out of business a year ago. Screenvision has a new program now, something like Screenvision Soundtrax.

Are any MovieTunes available on the interweb? I haven't had the pleasure (??) of hearing these and am interested to see what they are like.

They were nothing particularly noteable. Just a collection of songs with a "host" introducing songs/artists, thanking patrons, and throwing in some generic promotions ("visit our concession stand", etc.). If your chain was large enough, there would be more personalized information announced. The "host" was your stereotypical disc jockey voice (all be it the mellow variety). The music varied month to month; usually top 40 pop with a couple of "golden oldies" thrown in, but they occassionally featured themes (Christmas, Country, movie soundtracks, that year's Grammy nominated songs, etc.).

I'm not so sure I want to hear these now.

"Chris Eric Stevens Must Be Stopped" forum page

It seems Mr Stevens conjures up some forceful opinions.

Its not that movie tunes was particularily bad (or good), its just the program was only 40 minutes long or so, so as a theatre floor employee you heard it about 9 times per shift for an entire month. It got a little old pretty fast.

What's a movie without candy, hot popcorn, and an ice-cold soft drink? Wouldn't that taste great right now? Visit our concession stand for the best in movie refreshments. MovieTunes continues now with.....

If anyone (Jesse) is going through Kris Eric Stevens/MovieTunes withdrawals, here's your fix, there's a clip on Mr. Steven's site: http://www.kriserikstevens.com/

Enjoy!
