All of our Yes Man prints (3 of em) seem to be running about 7 mins longer than what they should be. All have 4-5 trailers, but are dropping 8-10 mins later than scheduled. Any one else notice this?

I guess the obvious question would be what running time are you going by? What did they give you?

According to the feature info/attachments forum the runtime is 104 minutes.
The runtime our booker gave is 105 minutes.

What time do you have?

Order one of those Neumade film measuring machines and run each reel though to get your total feet. then divide that total by 90 and that'll give you total minutes.

We were told 104 mins and i would love to have a film counter, but our lowly theatre won't buy one until our attendance goes up.

Maybe it's just me but perhaps you're scheduling the whole print as 104 minutes and it's getting out late because the 4-5 trailers come out to be the extra 10 minutes that shouldn't have been included in the 104 mins?

No, we have a 15 min trailer time included in all films. Our 1:55 is scheduled to drop at 3:54. (104+15=119)

Then I guess some of your trailers are longer than you allowed for.

After I added another trailer, it's dropping 1 minute before scheduled. I blame global warming.

it's dropping
May I ask where this term came from? Why is the ending of the show a "drop?"

The same thing is being applied to new releases of music albums. Billboard keeps saying "the new album drops next Tuesday."

WTF? Please enlighten my 52 year old self.

So does that mean the new release is over next Tuesday?

[Confused]

I assume the "drop" is the free-fall of the accumulator that can be heard throughout booth as a loud thunk.

I always assumed it the analog of "comes on screen" (from "comes on stage"): "drops off screen."
