A current client wrote: "Twice as many Aussies (per capita) watched Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth as Americans." When asked for evidence, he supplied this reasoning: "US has a population of just over 300,000,000, Australia is just over 21,000,000. The US box office totaled $24,146,161 and the Australian box office totaled $3,159,011." She wonders whether he took the different cost of tickets in each country into account when he wrote his statement. What are ticket prices in Australia these days? Is there an "official" average price? What's the source of official info? In the US, Movieline Intl. lists the average movie ticket price in 2007 as $6.70 and in 2008 as $6.85.
