Can anyone confirm or deny that DFS handles film delivery themselves or do they use a 3rd party? Thanks.

Sorry, but your name reminds me of a T.V. show I watched as a kid. The Great Space Coaster, I think was the name of it:

No Gnews is Good Gnews, with Gary Gnu.

Except:

No Gnews is Good Gnews with David Ganoe.

[Big Grin] Just a random thought

Dang! Thought I was the only one who remembered "The Great Space Coaster".

Anyway, the DFS/ETS depot here in OKC uses 3rd party courriers to deliver the prints or you can pick them up yourself which is what we do since we're only 15 minutes away.

Here, prints are shipped UPS or bus. I don't think DFS runs any of their own transportation.

We have Western Air here in Idaho that handles ETS shipments from the SLC depot..and once in a great while from the Portland ORE depot if SLC doesn't have that certain print. Eastern part of the state would get both - mainly from the SLC and on rare occasions, the Butte, MONT. depot.

Here in San Diego, Brakewater Transport delievers the DFS prints, which typically comes at 12:30am Friday morning, at least to my theatre. I can't say what time the prints arrive at other theatre locations, though.

To be definitive about it, DFS does not handle delivery direct to the customer. They will use a variety of agents, including local trucking companies, national couriers like Paramount Courier, DHL/Danzas Air and Ocean, and FedEx, as well as permitting pickup from the depot ("WILL CALL").

If you have questions, call DFS customer service at 800-764-3969.
If you have questions about your locality, the Jacksonville depot is 904-741-3733.

We receive our DFS prints via "Consolidated Film Delivery", usually late Wednesday night, between 10:30pm-1am.
