Does anyone have any information about the Paramount Theater in Marshall, TX? It was operated by East Texas Theaters in the 60's. No idea beyond that. Thanks!

During the 1930's it was part of Paramount Pictures "Publix Theatres Corp." in their Horwitz-Houston Division, under Jefferson Amusement Co. Inc./ East Texas Theatres Inc. During the 1940's it was part of Paramount Pictures Inc. and run by a subsidiary chain. It was part of Jefferson Amusement Co. and East Texas Theatres Inc. till 1969. Around that time they were sold to Golden Triangle Theatres Inc., which was headed by W. Bonner Phares.
During the 40's the home office was at the Jefferson Theatre Building in Beaumont, Texas. In 1961 till 1969 they were located in Gaylynn Office building in Beaumont, Texas.

Cinematour

The theatre seated 1231 people.

Wish I had the money. Would be a great restoration site. Doubt the population is sufficient to make it economically viable.
