Received word from our booker today that we are allowed to play Shrek 3 no earlier than 10:00 PM on the 17th, and Pirates 3 no earlier than 8:00PM on the 24th.

However, all grosses generated by these early shows are supposed to be reported as part of Friday's boxoffice report.

This is quite clearly a means to break the "opening day record" that Spider-Man 3 will probably set...but, how to make the computers cooperate with this one?

We're not going with Shrek on the break so that one doesn't affect us, but will certainly do an 8:00 on Pirates.

I just got word that DW is canceling the 10:00 shows of Shrek 3. Can anyone confirm?

Based on the number of theaters already selling tickets (including ours), I can't imagine this would be the case. Where did you hear this? I'd like stop our Fandango sales right away if this is the case. Luckily, we haven't sold any yet. I'd imagine corporate would tell us pretty quickly if they were informed.

Yes it is true. Apparently Paramount is now allowing no shows earlier than Midnight. Not sure why but I don't think very many people would go to see a midnight showing of a family film. SM3 did well with the midnights because of its core fanbase.

Our booker called me this afternoon and told us to stop selling tickets for Thursday's show (we had just placed the tickets for sale today, so we didn't sell any yet). I had to change all of our ads reflecting the change.

While our bookers are based in Canada, I was thinking that it was just for the Canadian market, I wasn't sure if it applied to the US. But we cancelled ours all the same.

It seems they cancelled them across the board for some reason. Although it did seem strange to have 10PM shows and later for a family movie.

We were told to move the 10pm to midnight unless we already had sold tickets. Our e-mail specifically said that if you had already sold tickets to NOT cancel it.

Now they are allowed again if you have already sold advance tickets.

So, is this still the case? The two Premiere Theatres around here that are owned by United Entertainment Corp. just began selling 10:00 tickets today. Did Dreamworks change their mind again? We're still selling for this show, but we've had tickets available at our box office and Fandango since Tuesday.

Yes, apparently they are back on. Paramount really needs to make up their mind.

Same here...no one from the Cinemark booking Department said it was off. So it has always been on for us.
