Hi Folks:

Is the Raven Film Center in Healsburg, CA still open? It is listed as such on Cinematour & Cinema Treasures but I thought it had closed.

Thanks,

Mike

The old Raven Theater in Healdsburg on North street is open. It was built in 1950 and seats 500 but no longer runs film. A not-for-profit is doing stage productions and live musical events.
The four screen Raven Film Center on Center street, built in 1994, has been closed since October of last year but will be opening in June under new management.

I believe that Ky Boyd is looking into taking over the Raven.

Aaron - Ray Holley is going to be very disappointed to find out you aren't an avid reader of his column in the Healdsburg Tribune! It's something every Petaluma-ite should consider essential. [Smile]

In his column last thursday (5/18), Holley reported that the word on the street in Healdsburg was that the Tocchini's were close to a deal on the Raven Film Center. No word on the actual opening date though.

Hi Folks:

Thanks for the information. I was suprised that it had closed. Went there a lot from 1996-1998. Glad to see that it is re-opening.

well, that's what I get for not reading local news I guess. Last I heard, you were in talks to take it over. Oh well.

I returned home from my trip today to find an email from Corey Tocchini saying that they plan to be back on screen at the Raven June 30th. They promise a very strong line-up of product. They also plan on making use of the one room with the roll up screen and back stage to do live shows. For the sake of the town we hope they can make a good go at it.
