The Ziegfeld Theatre (last large single-screen in Manhattan) is starting a classic film series:
Feb 3 -9: The Godfather, The Godfather II, Chinatown
Feb 10-16: West Side Story, Chicago, My Fair Lady
Feb 17-23: Epic week
Feb 24- Mar 2: Lord of the Rings week
March 3 - 9: Indiana Jones week.

No word on whether any of these will be 70mm prints or if 35mm, whether they are new or recent prints.

Anyone know?

It looks like all 35mm prints. New or used who knows yet. It does look like any 70MM on this series.

Epic week is: Ben-Hur, Gladiator and Braveheart

All seat $7.50

No 70mm? That's a shame. I watched a lot of movies in 70mm there.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade has a fairly stout 6-track Dolby SR mag mix. Of course it's another matter to find a print that is still in good shape nearly 17 years after its release.

The entire schedule is online at:

I'll certainly come down for a few shows. I hope that if they get a good turnout they will plan another one, and include some 70mm features.
