We get our outdoor units from Bass Industries www.bassind.com. They make nice weathertight outdoor units.

One of my current engineering classes is Materials Science/Metallurgy.

Anyhow, currently in the middle of one lab assignment researching various types of plastics and their properties.

Anyhow, you might look at PETG from VIVAK. Largly used in display case manufacture, and comes in a UV version. Inexpensive, high impact and scratch resistance, comes in clear but can be painted, silk screened, etc. Because of high impact resistance, a display case can be transported in its assembeled state. The UV version is meant for extended outdoor use and resists yellowing, etc. Also recyclable and FDA approved.

Look for a ready made display case made of this material, or you can buy it in various size and thickness sheets to custom build your own.

Easily cut, drilled, glued, ultrasonic welded, riveted, and the list goes on.

Do an internet search for PETG (VIVAK). Lots of info.

Hope this helps....
