Author Topic: Did the general election affect cinema attendance in the UK tonight? Leo Enticknap Film God Posts: 7474 From: Loma Linda, CA Registered: Jul 2000 posted 05-05-2005 04:55 PM                        Needless to say, this is not in any way an invitation for political comment. This is the fifth election night in my adult life, and the first in which I haven't either been working in a cinema or in one as a member of the audience. In '92 the NFT audience was about average, at a guess; in '97 attendance was possibly down a bit at the Exeter Picture House; and in '01 it was a fuller house than I'd have expected at City Screen York (people escaping the tedium of an utterly predictable result?).
