Does anyone out there have any currently installed auditoriums with seats made by the "Seating Concepts" Co.? We are having a very high failure rate of the "self-lifting" feature of the seats, and wonder if we are alone with this predicament. I'd like to hear from others, if you have seats from this company, just to see if all our customers are somehow oversized... (You'd think we only ran shows for sumo wrestlers!) Thanks, PR

We just installed 2,700 rockers from seating concepts and I couldn't be happier. The arm rests don't retract but the rocking feature is nice. And as far as the width goes, they do make them in different sizes.

How old are these seats?

Are they the "spring lift" type or gravity type? (If spring-lift, get ready for a huge pain in the butt to make repairs.)

How wide are your cushions?

We have been using Seating Concepts exclusively for several years and are real pleased with them. Very good company to work with.

We have installed these seats in our last 6 projects and love them. The only problem we've had is the shipping. Seldom are they on the day or time the company tells us they will arrive.

Here's a tip on shipping.

I have a brother in law who is a truckdriver. When we bought our Seating Concepts seats, we hoped to save on freight by using him to truck the seats to us. He agreed, and arranged his schedule so he'd be in their vicinity when the seats would be ready, thereby we would save 1/2 the cost of the shipping.

Well you guessed it...the seats were not ready on time. Myt bro-in-law was able to scramble for a substitute load so we did not have to pay him to drive back here empty.

Then we got on the phone with SC and told them how their screwup had blown our plan and cost us $$$ in the shipping, so they agreed to cut the cost of the regular shipping in half.

Bottom line: If they screw up in any fashion and it costs you money, the "squeaky wheel gets the grease."
