Author Topic: New Theatre for Grand Rapids, Michigan area Bob Brown Expert Film Handler Posts: 146 From: Grand Rapids, MI Registered: Apr 2002 posted 04-24-2004 10:48 AM                        (Gaines Township, April 23, 2004, 4:50 p.m.) Plans are in the works to build a new mega-plex movie theatre in southeast Grand Rapids. John Loeks, the owner of Celebration Cinemas, says his company will put a new 16-screen complex on the corner of Kalamazoo Avenue and M-6 in Gaines Township. Inside the theatre will be spacious lobbies, a modern box office and concession stand, along with 16 comfortable auditoriums with 2,700 stadium-style seats. The $15 million project will create approximately 100 new jobs when the new theatre opens in the summer of 2005.
