Are there any statistics available that show movie attendance according to day of the week? I'm looking for something that tells me in broad terms, for example, that 50% of the audence falls on Friday, Saturday amd Sunday, and the rest is evenly spread out over the week. Something like that.

Mid-week (Mon - Thru) attendance heavily depends on your per-capita night(s), if any.

If you are looking just for general trends and are willing to do some math, you can get daily national numbers at Box Office Mojo

I've found that those numbers are more based on your area. If you live in a sleepy older community you will get more day and less night during the week vs a downtown theater that will be dead during the day, but pick up at night, no matter what day of the week.

Also depends on what is on. Sometimes it's a waste of time screening Matrix 3, while Calendar Girls is really worth it. The way we thought was try it & figure out what is going to work.
It seems for us anything that chicks/oldies like will do well.
