After you do a pre-release screening or something similar for a major studio or its agency, how long after you submit the correctly done paper work does it typically take to receive the check?

It depends on the studio. It can take 30-90 days and thats with them having all their [bs] together. In Los Angeles, if you were assigned to a premiere or special screening as projectionist. The average time to get paid by the studio was 60-90 days. I did a screening for HBO in LA, it took 11 months to get paid. The person in charge had been transfered and the paper got lost. I was on the payroll for Warner Bros. at the time, but I had to do all the paperwork to get on HBO's payroll. I got the turn around time on payment for Disney down from 90 days to 14 days for projectionists.

Good Luck

Universal refused to pay me the $918 they owed me for services relating to a screening 7 years ago- Our main office stepped in and got Universal to pay me. I believe it took about 3 weeks from the time I submitted the invoice to the time I received the check.

American Zoetrope handed me a check right on the spot as soon as the film tailed out about a year or so later for another screening.
