Now: Two theatres PACER. Two theatres fanfold tickets with AUTOMATICKET machines.

We had Theatron at one theatre but never took it when we closed it. We closed it in favor of a larger location where we put in an old PACER system that we already had. Been using that since I was a kid, so it is very familiar to me...common problems and all.

I would really like a new Sensible system, but i'm perfectly content with the PACER for now....mainly because I want to spend that money on other things

I don't know if ICON Filmstar is just specific to Hoyts USA theaters - but it was an excelent program to work with.... didn't really ever lock up and the company itself was great to work with. I know that they were working on a windows based version when I left Hoyts, but the ms-dos version was bullet-proof.

We use RDS. I think they are out of Canada. Simple click and drag and you can alter stuff anytime you want with about a 1 minute delay. Sometimes their tech support isn't the greatest though (at least not this week).

Franklin,
We use RTS. Find them at www.RTS-Solutions.com they have a demo disk and package that they can send out. Powerful system at an affordable license price per selling station. Great reports, or search these forums for "RTS" There have been a number of posts regarding POS systems. Hope this helps

We have always used Theatron. I've never had a problem with it, but then again, I'm mostly up in the booth now. Our Managing Director bought it years ago( I believe we were one of the first users here on the east coast) and still swears by it. Tech support is very good.

The theatre I am currently at uses PACER/CATS TIMS 2000. It has it's negatives and positives. Right now the power supply in my server just went kaplooey. Oh what fun computers are - when they work - they are great - when they don't - forget it.

These are the days I wish for my old automaticket machines back!

Waste of time, try asking for everyones favourite projector. People are very loyal to their ticket software (unless it's a real dog) There is a previous thread that was very good, to the point that I think we will go with RTS based on favourable comments
