After purusing Widescreen Review's upcoming 70mm in LA list, I noticed that, in addition to the previously announced LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, two other titles, PLAYTIME and LORD JIM. Does anyone know if these titles are one-time only shows (like PATTON was), or will they have fairly wide booking throughout the US?

Playtime" was re-released yesterday in France.

The last time a ran "Playtime" in 70mm it was 1:85:1 and not full frame, is this the case for the new 70mm prints or have they dome blow up to full frame 70mm?

Wasn't Playtime SHOT in 65mm, and, if so, how was this 1.85 ratio achieved? And Why?

Have a look at the official Tati website

Mitchell's 65mm cameras were used to film "Playtime". Why Tati brought in the sides of the frame remains to be found out. It's not as wide as 1,85:1.

There are currently 2 70mm DTS prints. And they are only running in Paris at the Arlecin cinema. One print is shown, the other is for back up. The DVD is out in the fall/winter this year.
