Is there any list of all theater chains and their future locations? Several of the big chains have a construction page of where they are building soon on their website, but not all.

I live in North Carolina, and the only thing I can find for this state is.

14 screen Eastern Federal Theater for Raleigh, NC
New Theater for Downtown Winston Salem. (No info on who or what size, I would like to know anything about this if anyone has any info.)

Other locations in the United States:
Eastern Federal 14 plex in Florence, SC
AMC River East 21 - Chicago - Fall 2002
AMC The Parks at Arlington 18 - Dallas/Ft. Worth - Late 2002
AMC Eden Prairie Mall - Minneapolis - March 2002
Century Theaters- 20 Screens Daly City, CA- Summer 2002
Century Theaters- 12 Screens Downtown San Mateo,CA- Fall 2002
Century Theaters- 14 Screens Northridge Mall, Salinas, CA- Fall 2002
Century Theaters- 16 Screens North Sacramento, CA- Fall 2002

I am sure there are others, so please add on to the list if there is not already a current list.
Thanks.

Cinema West is still building new and expanding existing locations!

Next to open is the Los Banos 6, Los Banos, CA (Memorial Day 2002-not Christmas 2001 as the site reads)

Yes, we have several theater projects going.. one in Las Vegas as well

Like everyone, our revenues reduced compaired to last year. But, we're still doing pretty good, especially compaired to others. We've got a pretty good managment team, theaters in good locations, and quite frankly, have had some good luck!

Angelika plans on eventually expanding to Los Angeles and Atlanta, this is according to a former boss of mine now at the Houston site. I believe the LA theatre would be first. Unsure of dates or even if this construction has been greenlighted.

We at Ambassador Entertainment are adding one screen to our four-plex by this Spring, and hope to be in construction on an 8-plex in a yet-to-be-disclosed city in NC by this time next year.

By the way, while there were plans for Eastern Federal to build in Raleigh, I am fairly sure those plans are cancelled...or at least on indefinite hold.

Wes,

Mission Velley is adding a new screen? I thought that theater already had 5 screens. Are you talking about the Lumina theater in Chapel Hill? I miss those Ambassador Entertainment theaters. I used to go to the Rialto, and the Colony alot when I lived in Raleigh and wanted to see an independent.

When I went on Eastern Federal's website the other day I saw the article about the proposed new theater for Raleigh. I was kind of surprised myself. I thought it would go at that MarqE outdoor mall they keep fighting about off the beltline and Capital Blvd, but it's not. This one says the corner of I-540 and US-70 in the Brier Creek Shopping Center. That would be that mess of an intersection of Gleenwood Ave. near the Angus barn and the airport. It's seems like a kind of dumb place for a theater if you ask me. The Raleigh Grand is only about 3 or 4 miles away at best. Like you said it might have been canceled, although the article is pretty descriptive and some what recent. (Easternfederal.com/EFC News)

Ryan,

We are adding a 5th screen at the Lumina...it's going to be upstairs, over the arcade.

Mission Valley already has 5 screens...will possibly expand that theatre in the next couple of years.

I don't know what Eastern Federal's plans are for their Raleigh theatre. I cannot get their website to work right now to read the page you pointed to. But, like you, I think it is stupid to put a 14-plex 2.5 miles from the still-new Raleigh Grande, and also close to the not-yet-old Park Place 16 in Morrisville. The old man that has been the president of Eastern Federal for years died not too long ago...I wonder if that changed the plans at all?

A customer of ours is building a really deluxe 8 screener(with room for 4 more) in Park City Utah. Less than a block from where you turn to go up to Olympic Village!! Park City has been suffering for lack of any decent place to see a film for years now so this will be a refreshing place for those sophisticated folks up there to go.

Cinemark has a state of the art 4 screen opening in Park City next month I believe.. Even though it is small, from what we have heard, it is packed with all sorts of toys (16mm and 35mm, DLP, all digital sound formats, etc)
