After having done it, we were wondering how the big boys in the legal dept. at MGM and Warner Bros. feel about this. EMI, the dist. of the music was OK as they officially sponsored it.

MGM no longer handles The Wizard of Oz. Warner Bros. now controls all rights on that title -- theatrical, video, TV.

If EMI has officially OK'd this then a DTS disc should be made to sync to the special edition prints eliminating the need for someone fumbling with a CD player that may or may not start at precisely7 the exact time, yada yada yada...

Having seen/heard the "Dark Oz" combination, it doesn't seem like perfect sync is really important. Actually, I think the whole thing is over-rated; it just doesn't match up enough to make it interesting. I like the film and the album, but just because I also like steak and ice cream doesn't mean I want them together.

Either that, or I just wasn't stoned enough.

I agree, I ran this for a local radio station on Thurdsay, and I sure couldnt see anything that 'synched' or 'matched', and the radio ppl started the CD and claim to have done it several times before, so I would assume they knew exactly when to start...

Stoned enough is probably the key. Considering the number of pukers and people RUNNING to the restrooms I'd say our audience found the synch perfect.
