Im not Sure if this Belongs here or Film Yak.
When i Lived in Garden City Long Island
New York. We Lived on What used to be A
Milatery Base in 1985/1988. Behind the House
was a Single Screen Movie Theater.
Nassau County. Anyone know if it still
standing or did it Get Torn down???
I Live in Virginia Now.

Nope, sorry, it's gone along with almost all the other singles on Long Island (I think there is still one up and running out in Westhampton). The only theater that is now in Garden City is the Loew's multiplex on Old Country Road in front of Roosevelt Field.

You were lucky to have grown up in such a pretty town. I've been looking to relocate to the Island and I stopped at a few realtors in Garden City. Median price for a tiny 3 bdrm 1 bath ranch is upwards of $430,000 now.

Hi Betsie. This is my first time on this great site.Thanks Brad and everyone here. As to single screens on Long Island the Lindenhurst is still operating and always seems to be doing well. The theatre you asked about in Garden City is gone. Ray.
