This goes so far back I'm afraid only Old-Timers will remember it [Bob Marr, are you here?] but the best popcorn trailer I have ever seen opens up with all the popcorn spilling out of the kettle then goes on to the butter and all the time there is this great snappy music [the real kind, not what teenagers listen to today!]

This thing was so well done it will have mouths watering and will sell tons of buttered popcorn. Was generic in nature and I always thought it was produced by one of the trailer houses but I've never been able to find it in a catalog.

Have you tried Derek Maxwell's site http://www.drive-infilm.com ? He has a huge collection of concession trailers in 16 and 35mm and may have the item you are looking for...

I agree with Aaron. I've got some of Derek's vintage intermission stuff on 16mm and he has some really good stuff. He's been venturing into 35mm more as of late which is a great service to exhibitors who want to keep screening those great old tailers.

Derek's 16mm reductions are _really_ nice. I have Derek's 16mm version of "Let's Go to the Lobby" and picture and sound quality is great. I haven't yet seen his 35mm stuff, but I'm sure its good and he's a very good person to deal with as well.

I do remember seeing the trailer with the popcorn spilling out of the kettle. It seems to me it was in the latter part of the 60's.
I do not recall who supplied it but in those days you only had Consolidated and National Screen doing the distribution of trailers. It could have been produced by Odgen or Berlo Vending Company...really not sure.

I'm not sure which trailer it is you're after, but Derek's 35mm stuff is good. Filmack also has a surprising amount of vintage stuff still available, but you have to ask specifically for the list of older stuff. They'll send you a photocopied stack of old catalogue pages, listing lots of their older policy and concession trailers. I just bought a brand new 35mm "Let's All Go to the Lobby", and the quality is perfect.

Derek's a great guy to deal with, and he has some incredible stuff. I picked up his VistaVision promo reel and the picture and sound were fabulous...now if he had only wet gated the printdown! Oh those base scratches.

"Let's All Go to the Lobby" is Filmack catalog number C-9-279S. The price is $65., plus shipping. Filmack Studios is at 1327 Wabash Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60605.

Their phone number is 800-345-6225. They'll send you a catalog on request, but you have to specifically ask for the list of vintage stuff. They don't take credit cards, so you'll have to mail them a check or money order. Theaters can open a charge account with them, but you still have to mail them back their credit form.
