Subject: POSITION OPEN AT GEORGE EASTMAN HOUSE

George Eastman House has an opening for a full-time Theatre Manager in the Motion Picture Department.

Job Description:
The Theatre Manager coordinates and implements film exhibition activities in
the Museum on a daily basis. She/he is responsible for the operation of the
Theatres, with specific duties including: (a) scheduling box office staff;
(b) scheduling film introductions for each screening, including providing
introductions her/himself;
(c) planning for special theatre events,
including assisting the chief projectionist to prepare for necessary equipment needs, and scheduling additional necessary staff; (d)processing invoices for film exhibitions, film rentals, etc;
(e) maintaining an archive of programs and publications pertaining to the film exhibition program;
(f)maintaining lobby displays, including posters, flyers, bulletin boards, etc.

The Theatre Manager works in close contact with the film programmer, senior curator, chief projectionist, and the public programs and publicity departments. Duties also include: assisting and training interns,
students, and volunteers; and updating a database of attendance statistics.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of film history (US and
international), proficiency in organization and scheduling, outstanding public speaking skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while facing time constraints, including emergency situations related to
the implementation of the film program. Familiarity with film archive policies
and procedures is recommended.
