Theatre:

Bow-Tie's Clairidge Theatre, Montclair NJ. At one time, this was New Jersey's only Cinerama Theatre. It was chopped up into a bunch of small theatres back in the early 1980's. We went to a 12:30pm Saturday matinee. Theatre was clean, seats were comfortable. The staff forgot to turn on the sign indicating which auditorium the film was playing in. The screen was mounted up to high for the front half of the auditorium.

Presentation:

Picture was noticeably not bright enough. Focus was slightly soft, looked like a 1080p source, although it probably wasn't. The pictures aspect ratio was 16:9 on a screen masked for 1.85, slight black bars on the sides.

Plot:

Unhappy People Leading Unhappy Lives.

My girlfriend really liked it, but depressing dramas are not my thing. It was produced by Amazon Studios, so I would expect it to be streaming sometime soon.

I've been a fan of Kenneth Lonergan since his play 'This Is Our Youth' in 1996 and his film "You Can Count on Me" (2000) - while I thought it was an interesting story, the characters and specifically when the plot started to meander around my interest started to diminish - very good, but not as great (to me) as many of the film critics are raving about.
