The idear:

College a capella groups vie for championship title. One group of girls, with a leader who pukes (literally) under pressure, and one group of boys who have dominated the scene for many years and are, as most college guys are, arrogant.

Despite that simple premise, the movie is actually very entertaining, the singing and performance routines are pretty impressive, and best of all the ending is a surprise. (And no I am not going to put a toggled spoiler here..you got to go see the movie.) One hint, you need to stay at least a few minutes into the credits to get the ending punch.

I ran this Thursday night on 35mm at UCI. The print quality was pretty good except for a very annoying intensity flicker throughout most of Reel 3.

4 of 5 stars.
