CINEMA: Regal Village Square, Las Vegas, NV
AUDITORIUM: 13
PRESENTATION: Sony 4K Digital
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: Audio distortion with music in one scene (intended? Didn't seem like it.)
RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)

So I buy my ticket and notice there's a Rocket Fizz in the adjoining shopping center. Rocket Fizz is a shop that sells an extensive line of sodas in glass bottles and obscure candy. I require four things of such a place: Cheerwine, Orange Nehi, XXX Root Beer, and Green River. And this store had NONE of these.

THE PLOT: This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Wackiness ensues.

This looked all sorts of terrible from the first time I saw a trailer for it, so I was surprised at the number of favorable reviews I saw for it (which largely started with "I was surprised..."). So I chose this over "The Hunger Games", because that didn't look like my thing and I wasn't actually hungry.

This big screen redux does a good job of laughing at itself, particularly when the stars are being explained where they're being transferred to (which starts off with "a cancelled program from the eighties" and perfectly continues as a parallel rant about said cancelled police program...and movie remakes of television shows in general).

It's a funny movie overall, but it's also dumb and lacking in originality (well...it IS a TV remake).

I can only remember three primary cast members from the original show, but all three (two uncredited) have cameos.

I thought for a mainstream Hollywood movie culled from a tv show it actually was funny - I also thought the chemistry between Hill and Tatum was perfect. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
