This film was screened at CinemaCon and was introduced by its director and star, Morgan "Super Size Me" Spurlock.

The movie is a look at product placement in movies, and was financed entirely by...product placement. The products themselves (plus a LOT of others) are featured in the movie, which tells the story of how Spurlock got the financing to make the movie.

It's all very interesting and really quite fascinating, to see the kinds of negotiations that go on behind the scenes to get products placed in films.

The film is around 100 minutes long and moves briskly for the first hour or so, but then seems to lose its focus in the second half, before springing back to life for the hilarious conclusion. There are quite a few laugh-out-loud bits in it and, like "Super Size Me" it contains a lot of interesting information along with facts'n'figures presented in an energetic, entertaining way.

The screening didn't start until about 11:00 PM so that might be why it seemed to drag a bit toward the end...having started the day with breakfast at 7:30 AM we were all a bit on the tired side!

Spurlock was very entertaining as host for the screening. He even conducted a drawing for various prizes, donated (of course) by some of the companies featured in the film. He was also available (wearing a jacket emblazoned with various corporate logos) for handshakes and photo ops after the show.

Overall I would give the movie a 3.75 out of 5 stars. If you liked "Super Size Me" you will certainly enjoy this, although I would say that SSM is a slightly better movie.

The digital presentation was flawless.

I have a few friends who HATE product placement. Personally, I think IF it is none unobtrusively, it is less distracting than using mock products. For me, they draw more attention to themselves than real products. Mock products break the suspension of disbelief -- they are as bad as seeing microphones or the tops of set pieces. Just like EVERY freakin phone number starting with 555. Can't they figure out SOME way to absolve producers from being fined when idiots decide to call numbers they hear in movies (who ARE these people anyway and why can't THEY be sued instead of the film company)? Seems like in this age of huge conglomerates who own they movie companies, they can buy up a trunk line or two specifically so that the 555 thing can finally go way.

As for product placement -- most times its transparant for me an better than the alternative.
