The trailer made the movie out to be exactly what it was to me. A bad ass story of ninja meets cowboy. I liked that nothing was too over the top as far as slicing people up, or these crazy unfeasible stunts. However there is a shot when a bunch of cowboys are climbing up the Ferris wheel that was the worst c.g I have ever seen. Looked closer to clay-mation to me. But with the "good guys" easily liked, and the bad ones despised, it was easy to get into the story. Plus I really liked how It had a romanticized feel to it like some of the old westerns. What did everyone else think about it?

Flik was prob made on a shoestring budget, so they had to find the economical ways to pull it off.

They prob hired a newbie CG studio that needed a client real bad to do the effects.

The title of this movie reminds me of the old, horrid videogame for the 3DO called "Way of the Warrior".

You could tell that their budget was on the lower side but this one shot lasted a maximum of 2 seconds. All the other shots of the cowboys climbing were done live-action. It seemed like they needed a shot at editing and didn't want to go back to shoot it.

But I didn't know anyone actually owned a 3OD...

(off topic: 3DO was one heck of a game platform that could have gone somewhere if it wasn't so expensive and face huge competition from the other Game platform companies. Sadly, it didn't last too long, but it did give chase to SEGA's CD platform systems there for a while ...)

I was watching some of this movie and two things came to mind on what I saw:

I was wondering if they shot this thing in TechniScope - the two sprocket widescreen process that used a flat lens instead of an anamorphic lens that many "spaghetti" westerns were shot in .... and the color in the movie almost look like the print a good ol dye transfer IB process

..and on that same note: this movie did remind me of a classic Sergio Leone "spaghetti" western - the sets, the acting and the cheeziness of the whole thing.

(Gee, where is Lee Van Cleef, Terrance Stamp, Terrance Hill and Bud Spencer along with Clint Eastwood in this film..?)

I'll agree with most of that, but another thing hurting the system was that it was insanely slow (not enough RAM, CD-DRIVE too slow). It made it rather painful to play. The library of games wasn't so hot, either. I can't believe I spent $700 on that thing. Road Rash was amazing, however.
