CINEMA: Moore Warren, Moore, OK
AUDITORIUM: 4
PRESENTATION: Dolby Digital Cinema DLP/THX
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None [Cool]
RATING: Three stars (out of four)

THE PLOT: An alcoholic chain-smoking has-been musician nearing Social Security age gets to sleep with MAGGIE FUCKING GYLLENHAAL! WHAT??? Wackiness ensues.

THE OKLAHOMA DRINKING GAME: If you see this movie in Oklahoma, sneak in a bottle of your preferred hard liquor and take a drink whenever:

-an audience member says "Bin thar, dunn that" aloud (the examples at this viewing would be the vomiting and rollover scenes).

-the audience laughs at moments that probably weren't intended to be funny.

Gyllenhaal deserves the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for not looking grossed out during the sex scenes.

Crazy Heart isn't playing here in Lawton (at least not yet). I could check it out up at the Moore Warren 14, but the show isn't playing in either of the big auditoriums with premium balcony seating. So one would still have to sneak in that bottle of booze to play the Oklahoma drinking game.

This movie was nothing but self indulgent Oscar propaganda!

I liked it. [beer]

Best film so far, acting wise, of 2010. Musical performances surprisingly good. Overall, I liked it very much.

That was my take on it, but my girlfriend strongly disagreed, saying she understood the attraction and it was believable. I know there are not many women here on Film-Tech, but I would be curious as to their take on this.
