Good Dick is a very offbeat romantic comedy. Or maybe its an offbeat non-romantic comedy...for I've never seen a film so romantic with a character that is deathly afraid of romance.

The title has almost nothing to do with the movie.

This is a very small film ($200,000 budget) being distributed by its makers. It was written, produced and directed by lead actress Mariana Palka. She has an odd yet riveting screen presence that slowly captivates the audience. Lead actor and producer Jason Ritter plays a man who works harder at "getting the girl" than anyone I've ever seen.

The film is short (86 minutes) and will appeal especially to college students and those just out of school hitting the world for the first time.

There are brief appearances by Charles Durning and Tom Arnold.
Arnold is especially good in a very creepy way.

The film did very well at the Sundance festival. It will be playing in limited bookings around the country. Looks from their website that there are only a few prints.

Wife and I liked it, giving it a solid B+.
