WARNING: Bondage leads to dangerous spoilers

I buy my ticket from Only Visible Employee, who is selling tickets from the snack bar. As I'm walking away from the snack bar, he says "So have you seen "Art School Confidential" yet?"

"Yeah. I was pretty disappointed with it."

"I kind of was too. His other movies were pretty good."

"Yeah. "Ghost World" was good."

"I probably would have been a lot more disappointed if I didn't get to see it for free."

"Probably."

"You should grab a flyer. We've got some great stuff coming up. Have you heard of "Water"? It's about women's rights and..."

He goes on and on and on while I stare back politely. Aside from the fact I'm still a little dizzy from the whole "Flight 93" thing earlier, I am also now fresh full of spaghetti. But he's very nice and well meaning and just trying to build business for this old four-plex. What is this...the fourth operator? It's the four-plex that would not die. I went back and bought a water from him later. I'm sure his movie suggestion wasn't supposed to be subliminal concession advertising...OR WAS IT?!?

I must say that Madstone did an admirable job of fixing this place up before they folded.

As you might expect, the movie follows the career of pin-up model Bettie Page. Page was doing some fairly cutting-edge stuff at the time including really campy bondage. Page is portrayed as an innocent model who sees the whole thing as little more than modeling gigs.

It's BEAUTIFULLY shot partly in black-and-white and partly in highly saturated color to give it a period feel. And for the perverts among you...if you like thirties-fifties era lingerie, this is a must see.
