Hi all

I have just returned from seeing the Shaggy Dog at my local drive-in.

I don't recall seeing the original film so this film was as new to me. I thought it quite well made and the director made good use of cgi throughout the film.

More importantly it had a solid (if a little predictable) plot and good acting. Time Allen was right at home and puts in a great and convincing performance. My daughter loved the movie.

Verdict 8 stars out of 10.

As we wandered into the snack bar I showed my daughter the big publicity cardboard cutout for the movie. My daughter who is 5 and only just learning to read, pointed to the bottom of the promotion and said 'look Dad - Disney!'.

I think it is a great credit to Walt, even after all these years and Disney's obvious corporate failings that a 5 year child who has not learned to read can recognise Disney's name. Even more so it is to his credit that the organisation he founded is still producing films that kids love.

cheers Peter
