This movie is only playing in NYC and LA apparently and is also available now on DVD. I'd never heard of it until I saw it on our new release list at my day job.

I think everyone should watch this film and then decide if you will EVER set foot in a Wal-Mart again. It's fascinating and completely credible because almost all of it comes directly from the people who have worked there, or lost businesses because of Wal-Mart.

There's also a lot of great inside poop that I'd never known about; the way Wal-Mart receives huge subsidies from localities to build stores, the way they screw workers out of overtime, the hideous working conditions of the factory workers in China (who have to pay rent whether they choose to live in the company-provided "housing" or not); and so on.

Five stars from me.

I saw a similar program about Walmart on PBS a few years ago. After it was over, I decided never to enter any Walmart again. It's the ultimate version of what happens when corporate suits get their way with everything.
