Since this movie has been bumped back several times and it’s being plopped into theatres during “Movie Dump Month” you can assume the quality of this movie.

Jack Black’s character develops a spray that dissolves poop. (va-POO-rizer) When Ben Stiller’s character passes up on being Black’s partner with the patent, Stiller suffers from “envy” & he starts to hate his once best friend. Now enters Christopher Walken to help the situation while they get into many unfunny scenarios.

Only nice thing is Rachel Weisz.

It would have been funny for a 2-3 SNL skit, not a 5-reel movie. Jack Black has had one funny movie (School of Rock) and Ben Stiller keeps playing the same role every time.

I like Jack Black, but the movies he's in and the roles he plays just tell me that the casting department wanted him to do just what we, the public audience, likes seeing him doing.

And it's the same exact thing for Ben Stiller ... except it's worse, since Stiller is in ten movies in any given two-month period. The film-makers think that changing his HAIR STYLE will make it a fresh performance! "Well, in Along Came Polly, he had his curly hair, but in Envy he has straight hair, and in Dodgeball, he has wavy hair, but a mustache ... see, different!"

I'll wait until I see Envy before I make my final decisions, though. [Smile]

I wish we had Vapoorizer to make those five reels dissapear. Not even Christopher Walken could redeem this, although he was funny as usual. The story was not interesting, the dialouge was horrible, and the performances (except for Walken) seemed extremely bland. Also, another case of the trailer ruining the film. [bs]
