I now own the first two of these films on DVD. John Woo's direction and Chow Yun Fat's acting is top-notch. It's funny how in the first one - Chow is the supporting actor - and his character dies! He did such a great job they had to write him into the second one - as a twin brother. Anyways - these are two of the reasons John Woo has become one of the greatest directors out of Hong Kong.

Better Tomorrow I - 5 stars

Better Tomorrow II - 5 stars

Better Tomorrow III - THIS IS NOT A JOHN WOO FILM. IT SUCKS.

That is why I do not own the third one. Tsui Hark directed this so called 'prequel'. He was the producer on the first two. But what he did with the third one - I have no idea. The first two are action classics. Rent them or buy them whenever you can. Especially if you are an action fan.
