This is one hell of a movie. The visuals are truly amazing. Each shot is beautifully composed in these astoundingly complex ways. The editing is also superb. All of the images just sort of meld together perfectly. It's a very powerful story. Maybe a bit too self-important at times, but it's surely not bad. And Cate Blanchett's performance is exceptional. If she doesn't get nominated for an Oscar, it will not be suprising, but it will be outrageous nonetheless.

You are so absolutely right about Cate Blanchette. She is one phenominal actress. Everything she touches is pure gold. I have not seen this movie, but plan on it. I have yet to be dissapointed by a movie she was in. She has a sort of sixth sense about what films NOT to do.

If you like Blanchett, you should definitely see HEAVEN. I think it may be her best performance ever.
