Deuxieme Vie (Second Life) France 2000

There have been a few films of late that have explored the question of 'What if I had/hadn't...'

Deuxieme Vie is a French comedy that belongs to this genre.

Patrick Braoude directs and stars in this film that tells the story of a 32 year old man who can't make up his mind about anything but who, by way of a car accident, wakes up to find that he's 16 years older with a girlfriend, a career, a pending marriage and two adolescent kids.

The French do farces well and this film is no exception. This film is particularly well crafted with strong comedic performances all round. The story is insightful but not so deep as to detract from the humour of the fish out of water story. Also there are worse things in life than watching the stunningly beautiful Maria de Medeiros for two hours.

A particularly highly recommended film that is well worth seeing. Ideally the beautiful cinematography at the beginning of the film is best viewed on the big screen.

Verdict: 8 stars out of 10

cheers Peter
