This is a nice little flick that takes your mind off of things for the two hours or so that it runs. It is definetly not the greatest movie out there, but it was somewhat enjoyable, unless you don't like Mandy Moore. In that case stay far, far away from this one.

A curious note about the title, a friend and I could never remember who was in this movie before it came out, so we called it A Walk To Forget. Funny, eh?

Sun. Feb. 3rd, Regal Cinema World 8, Eugene OR, Theater #8. Scope, digital sound (probably DTS). The horrible shutter ghosting problem in this room has been fixed. Yay. I like to think it's due to my comment cards. But the daylight washing out the upper-right area of the screen continues unabated. No other flaws worth mentioning. Maybe 15 people there, and half of those were a group of gradeschool-aged kids sitting together, playing grabass and musical chairs and disrupting the movie for everyone else. I finally lost it. Assuming my best authority-figure demeanor, I walked up behind them and said loudly "You guys either settle down and watch the movie, or leave, right now. Make up your minds." To my surprise they settled down.

I had no idea going in what this unfortunately-titled movie was about. If I had read a synopsis in advance, I would not have gone. I don't usually like this genre: Teenagers, young lust/love, peer pressure, preacher's daughter, plot twists that are quite predictable. And it pushes emotional buttons left and right. But I bought it hook line and sinker. Mandy Moore and Shane West made it work. Neil is right, this is a nicely done little movie.
