Hi all

Tonight I watched a recent Gerard Depardieu & Judith Godreche comedy (in French with English Subtitles) called 'Bimboland'.

Although some may be turned off the title, I found this to be a very professionally produced and directed comedy. If it had american english you'd swear it was a Hollywood production. It will not surprise me if it is remade as an American movie in the near future. Gaumont are producing some very good films these days.

The plot (about a dowdy female University researcher who decides to study bimbos (femmes fatale) as a species and pretends to be one herself to get her man, has shades of 'My Geisha' in its plot.

And there are worse things in cinema than looking at 90 minutes of scantily clad bimbos!

My only criticism is that Gerard Depardieu is looking a little old for his part. A slightly younger actor would have better suited the part but nonetheless Gerard Depardieu plays his character well.

Verdict: Four stars out of 5 - expect a Hollywood remake soon! (Sandra Bullock woudl slot into the lead role fairly comfortably given her success with Miss Congeniality)

cheers Peter
