How do you figure the print is 1.66:1? Ours is an open matte (1.85) and projecting at 1.66 would make it look rediculous with WAY too much headroom.

Well, for one, the box the print came in says it's 1.66:1, and it looks proper projected through a 1.66:1 lens. =)

There is some empty space on the screen between the picture and our masks, which have only two settings and the narrower one is for 1.85:1.

Martti, I once had a print of Smokey and the Bandit labelled as Scope...it doesn't mean I had to run it that way.

Your second comment makes no sense to me either. The film's 1.85:1.
