up for grabs

  • reels: 5
  • running time: 1:28
  • picture format: flat 1:1.85
  • sound format: sr, dts
from video. no dts disks with our (ab)used print, but there is timecode and the leaders say dts. no printed cues.
several reels fade in/out. due to the setup of the reels, they must be cut in an unorthodox manner for platter buildup. there is (supposed to be) active soundtrack at all the reel changes, yet the tracks fade to silence a few frames before the ends of the reels. so tails have to be cut early, which means the heads have to be cut early too, at a point determined by matching up soundtrack information. just forget all the normal rules and match the soundtracks. it can be done, but it's a royal pain in the ass.
